Hi there! Are you tired of seeing book stickers blocking the view of a beautiful cover of your book? Well, today, I will be providing you a method (which I use) to remove those stubborn stickers on your books.
The things that you will need are the following:
- Hair dryer
- Adhesive tape
First thing first, find a place where you are comfortable to work with. Make sure that there is a near electric socket since obviously, you will need that for the hair dryer. So now that you are comfortable, let’s start working.
On this demo, I will use my The Mortal Instruments books which has a City of Bones movie sticker on their dust jacket. I’ve bought them last MIBF and was kinda upset to see them having stickers.
So here’s our three simple steps on removing those stickers:
- Apply direct heat on the sticker using a hair dryer for about 45 seconds.
- Peel off the sticker carefully. If the sticker is still resisting, apply a direct heat again for another 45 seconds.
- If there are any adhesive residues that are left on the cover, roll an adhesive tape and use them to pluck out those residues. In my case, the sticker for the first two books left no residues but on the third book there are some. You may want to also apply heat on the residues so that they can be remove easily.
I’ve provided below the before and after picture of my book. It’s like the sticker never existed.
See you again next time on the next instalment of this Book Helps series. Do you find this post helpful? Comment your thoughts below, –Lawrence 😀
